Welcome to #OnlineCarols14 – Church Services Online: by friends, for everyone

nax3jJE

What: A service of carols and readings provided online, usually in a wide range of styles, aiming to help people to celebrate the good news of Christ’s coming, supporting people who for whatever reason couldn’t get to a church service this year and showing how digital media can be used in/as worship.

Our Easter service was shortlisted for the prestigious Jerusalem Awards for it’s innovation and inclusiveness. Help us meet others where they are.

How:  Each prayer, reading or carol will appear on this site in the form of a post (like this one you’re reading) from 2pm GMT on Christmas Eve. At the end of each one click on the site’s title at the top of the page and the page will reload, revealing the next post.

Feel free to comment on this blog below each post (if you’ve got something nice to say that is!) or tweet using #onlinecarols14 or write on our Facebook wall – we would love to interact with you!

Can I contribute? Yes, we’d love you to do a reading, or sing a carol  – please keep volunteering until all the slots are full. Please contact @artsyhonker if you would like to volunteer, and – preferably – are able to provide your material by 20 December 2014.

Please also encourage others to join us, either live, or the material will remain online afterwards – you can see material from previous years still online.

Where: Online (where you are), from this site.

When: 24th December 2014, 2pm

  1. Thanks Bex I may look in from Sydney if I can’t get transport to a church. When you start it will be 11pm here. Best wishes and Merry Christmas! Liz
