Online Easter Service 2013

Christ the RedeemerJust as in previous years we would like to run another online service celebrating Easter together to mark the end of the Big Read project 2013. The online service will consist of readings, prayers and music created in different formats by different people. The format can be anything – an animation, video, audio recording, image – whatever can be created and shared digitally. The aim is to enable friends to gather together online to celebrate the Easter story using digital tools and doing something that is simply not possible in a normal church setting. Each part of the service will be a blog post meaning that you can give a response in the comments and share them with your friends on social networks.

The order of service is as follows:

Welcome

Opening song or hymn

Opening prayer or collect

First reading: 1 Corinthians 15:3-20

Song or hymn

Gospel reading: John 20:1-18

Meditation on John 20:1-18

Sermon – from the Most Rev Dr Rowan Williams

Prayers/intercessions

If you would like to volunteer to create one of these items for the service, please sign up on this form here: http://www.doodle.com/rh6prv6a9f8trsqe

Items will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The songs/hymns can be any Easter song/hymn.

The service will be broadcast, post by post from 2pm on Easter Sunday (31st March 2013), please follow the twitter account @onlinepraise and the #easter13 hashtag on twitter to tweet your own responses to each part of the service and share the Easter message with your friends.

We’re looking forward to working and worshipping with you!
